Leading defence technology contractor require a Head of Supply Chain to lead their cyber and intelligence BU. Applicants need procurement bid and supply chain management expertise, leadership skills and knowledge of the defence tech space.
Very much a "hands on" Head of Supply Chain role. Leading a team of 2 the Head of Supply Chain will lead on all procurement bid, supplier and subcontractor management/engagement, and contracts management and negotiation activities. The Head of Supply Chain will support bids and programmes with UK security agencies for consulting, R&D, software and systems contracts.
Nurturing strategic supply chain ecosystems, partnerships and collaborations with academic communities, high-tech SMEs, micro and start-up businesses will be a key feature of the job brief. The role reports to an overall Head of Supply Chain for the entire business, and is critical to the delivery of procurement, supply chain and supplier relationship strategy.
Specific duties of the Head of Supply Chain:
Development of supply chain ecosystem, driving collaboration, innovation and partnership opportunities
Procurement bid support, and development of supply chain to support work-winning activities
Strategically manage assigned portfolio of suppliers, categories, contracts and programmes
Stakeholder partnering - Project Managers, Client Managers, Engineers, Programmes, Quality
Procurement leadership of the BU, managing a team of 2; driving efficiencies in process, best practice and procedure
Head of Supply Chain applicants should meet the following criteria:
Procurement, Procurement Bid and Supply Chain experience within defence contracting, IT/technology, or aerospace
Previous exposure to defence technology supply chains (IT consulting, R&D, software, systems, cyber)
Knowledge of contract law and the ability to review, negotiate and manage contracts
Experience of cultivating supply chain ecosystems and knowledge of modern supplier relationship management techniques
Leadership skills, influencing ability and gravitas
