Due to promotion within the trust, we are looking for a Health and Safety Officer to join our supportive and talented team. We are a diverse multi-academy trust, looking for professional and ambitious people, with a passion for transforming our students’ learning.
What we are looking for:
To be successful in the post, the Health and Safety Officer provides support and oversight to Academies regarding health and safety areas of operation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Reporting to the Head of Health and Safety, the Health and Safety Officer provides support and oversight to academies regarding all areas of health and safety, implementation, and working practice.
* Work with academy Operations Managers and other relevant colleagues to ensure that academy policies and health and safety activities are appropriately reviewed, developed, monitored, and implemented.
* Support the delivery of the academy priorities and provide assurance regarding legal and organisational compliance.
* Collaborate with relevant colleagues (including other Health and Safety Officers) to fulfil the requirements of the role and contribute positively to the effective running of the health and safety function within the Trust.

This position is offered on a hybrid basis, with a mixture of home working, attending meetings at our head office in Kingswood, Bristol, and visiting a number of our academies across the Southwest. Due to the geographical size of the Cabot Learning Federation, the role is suitable for individuals not only within the Bristol area but also in the wider region spanning from Somerset to Gloucestershire.

This role has significant responsibility for ensuring safeguarding practice within the academy. This role involves working with children on a daily basis and is therefore in regulated activity.
The successful applicant will, in accordance with statutory guidance, be subject to a comprehensive pre-employment checking process including references from current and previous employers, health, right to work in the UK and a child disqualification check. The checks will also include an enhanced DBS check and a further check against the appropriate barred list.
