Our client is a global data centre services organisation, expanding their presence, and has a requirement for multiple shift engineers based at a newly built data centre in North London. Working on a continental shift pattern, covering 12-hour days and nights, the role requires experienced multi-skilled building services or data centre engineers responsible for routine and reactive maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems in a highly critical environment. These sites are co-location, housing servers for major organizations, and maintaining 100% uptime is vital. The salary is up to £48,000 basic, plus an annual bonus based on total earnings including overtime. There are opportunities for overtime and training, making this an excellent opportunity to join a leading company in a growing sector.
Duties:
1. Ensure site electrical systems are operated and maintained according to industry standards.
2. Maintain and carry out PPMs for built equipment on time and to a high standard.
3. Perform day-to-day maintenance and reactive repairs on electrical equipment and assets.
4. Record and feedback information into computer-based systems, especially PPM systems.
5. Identify and rectify faults related to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, escalating when necessary.
6. Install and modify site electrical services.
7. Communicate effectively with the Shift Supervisor regarding plant status, issues, and housekeeping standards.
8. Order parts accurately and report any difficulties encountered during engineering activities.
9. Maintain high standards of housekeeping in plant areas, workshops, stores, and rest areas.
10. Operate and troubleshoot systems including building electrical installations, BMS, fire systems, air conditioning, heating, generators, motors, UPS systems, and HV systems (training provided).
Requirements:
1. Experience in the Building Services industry.
2. C&G qualification or equivalent in electrical services/maintenance.
3. HV Approved Person.
4. Confined Space entry training (if required).
5. Recognized training or apprenticeship.
6. Strong communication skills and ability to interact at all levels.
7. Technical competence in UPS, generators, static switches, water treatment, refrigeration, and air conditioning.
8. Proactive approach to operational excellence.
