We have an exciting opportunity for an on-site Multi Skilled Engineer to work for our client based in Milton Keynes.
Hours of work are- 6am/2pm, 8am/4pm, 10pm/6am (Rotating) 40 hours a week.
Main Responsibilities
1. Fault finding and repair of on-line breakdowns and off-line equipment.
2. To repair plant/machinery faults in a timely manner and have the initiative to request assistance if the fault cannot be rectified within a reasonable time period.
3. Carry out daily inspections on guarding, air, steam and water leaks and complete repairs as necessary.
4. Complete weekly environmental inspections and testing.
5. Adhere to and work the call-out and on-call system as required.
6. Planned maintenance is carried out in accordance with the schedule on the following: Conveyors, Press Machinery, Laundry Machinery, Steam Systems, Fluid Systems, Pneumatics and Hydraulics.
7. Implement modifications and improvements to all levels to improve efficiency.
8. To install new equipment and to relocate existing equipment throughout the site, including the installation of power/utilities.
9. General fitting duties e.g. checking and installing bearings, replacing belts, couplings, diaphragms etc.
Skills
1. Familiarity with working on low-voltage equipment, ultra low control voltage and 3 phase equipment.
2. Experience of electric and inverter motor starters, plus DC experience.
3. Familiarity with motor testing.
4. ONC / City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Engineering or equivalent as a minimum. Candidate must be qualified to 18th Edition. Inspect and Test Qualification would be advantageous.
5. PLC Program and fault finding. Ideally Allen Bradley and Siemens (S7+Logo).
6. Ability to fault find and repair electronic PCB’s would be advantageous.
7. Welding and machining would be advantageous.
Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
Flexible to cover emergency situations outside normal factory hours, including holiday and sickness cover.
Understand preventative maintenance techniques and an ability to scrutinise diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer's specifications, production equipment and ancillary plant equipment, such as boilers, cooling towers, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, using tools appropriate for the job.
Should be able to examine electrical components to detect failure causes using test equipment and other measuring instruments. AC invertor controls and AC/DC drives would be advantageous. #J-18808-Ljbffr
