An exciting opportunity has become available for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our CAMHS team in Hemel Hempstead for a year. This has come about because the existing consultant psychiatrist has taken on a clinical director role for the Provider collaborative and he would require 6 PAs to backfill his clinical duties. Hemel Hempstead is part of West CAMHS team which also includes St Albans CAMHS team. The successful candidate will be based in the Hemel Hampstead Team. This is a newly created post to address the growing demand on our service. The successful candidate will join the existing 2 Consultant Psychiatrist in St Alabans clinic and will backfill for another consultant psychiatrist in Hemel Hempstead clinic. There are also 2 higher trainees ST4-6 in the team and 2 core psychiatry trainees and a GP trainee as well 2 SAS doctors and the multidisciplinary team which consists of psychotherapists, psychologists, family therapists, social worker and clinical nurse specialist and independent prescribers. To work closely with the multidisciplinary team and other agencies in health and social care as appropriate. To have responsibility for assessing a young person’s mental state, formulating a diagnosis, advising on treatment and monitoring the risks a young person poses, alongside the MDT To manage a psychiatric caseload offering assessments and reviews To undertake referral meetings, case reviews as required. Offer clinical leadership and work closely with the Senior Leadership Team in enhancing the collaboration with other agencies in health and social care relevant for the clinical and quality outcomes. To participate in various medical staff meetings within the Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust as necessary.
