Full job description - Apprentice Support Worker
Hants Healthcare Ltd is looking for passionate and experienced support workers to join our fantastic organisation. This role requires individuals to be enthusiastic and willing to provide support to individuals to enable them to access their communities, in addition to providing assistance with all aspects of their daily needs. Due to the nature of Hants Healthcare Ltd, every day is different, and we aim to provide support to enable staff to safely carry out their work.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting the Client with everyday duties, including personal care, meal preparation, and light cleaning duties.
2. Supporting the Client with access needs, such as day trips and helping them to access the community.
3. Working in accordance with the expectations and policies of Positive Steps and the expectations of the clients and companies we support.
Requirements for the position:
* A positive, enthusiastic, compassionate, and friendly individual to help support the people who use our service.
* A minimum of 6 months experience within health and social care, ideally with knowledge and experience of acquired brain injury, learning disability, and mental health. However, transferable skills and personal experience will be considered.
* A full clean driving license is required for this position due to the locations of the companies/service users we are supporting.

Pay: £11.80-14.80 dependent on experience

Shift:
* 12-hour shift
* Day shift: 7am-2pm & 2pm-10pm
* Night shift: 10pm-7am
* Sleep-in: 10pm-7am
* Workdays: Monday-Friday and every other weekend
Education:
GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
* Diploma in Adult Social Care Level 2/3
* Driving Licence (preferred)
Work Location: Ryde, Isle of Wight
Apprenticeship Standard:
* Level 2 Adult Care Worker
12 Months + 3 Months End Point Assessment
Functional Skills if not already achieved a GCSE C (or above) in Maths and English (or equivalent qualification).
There is a requirement to complete off-job training; College attendance will contribute, but time spent learning something new or any support work that is not your usual role will also be counted.

The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £6.40 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
