About The Role
Due to upcoming retirement, we have an exciting new opportunity for a Director of Operations to join our team, to support our Southern region. This is one of two roles who are collectively responsible and accountable for all branch hire network throughout the UK. You will play a key role in the growth of Pump Rental Solutions throughout your region. Working closely with the Regional Operations Managers (ROMS) and Branch Managers, this role plays a key role in the long-term growth and profitability of Pump Rental Solutions by developing, implementing, and continually improving operations strategies and plans to meet company goals and targets. The Director of Operations South plays a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency and maximising profitability within its region while maintaining the highest standards of safety.
Main Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement strategic goals for branch, regional and national operational efficiency, safety, quality, and productivity.
* Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plans.
* Provide strong leadership and help to develop high performing teams, effectively managing senior managers in their respective branch networks.
* Coaching and mentoring of managers within your teams to deliver business resilience today and a pipeline of capable leaders for long-term success.
* Work closely with the Regional Operation Managers to drive standards and quality throughout the region.
* Regularly review the team’s performance with the respective Regional Operations Manager.
* Encourage opportunities for employee training, development, and advancement within the company.
* Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analysing, and interpreting data.
* Work closely and collaborate with all directors and key stakeholders.
* Collaborate with sales and solutions teams to deliver tailored pump solutions.
* Analyse efficiency and effectiveness of operational processes and procedures.
* Drive operational strategies to optimise and manage resource utilisation.
* Accountable for managing budget for your operational region.
Qualifications & Experience
* Educated to degree level or equivalent – relevant business or management qualifications preferred.
* Proven experience of regional operational management, ideally at a senior or Director level.
* Experience of successfully managing geographically diverse teams.
* Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
* A leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A vision for the business and the wider team.
* Experience of leading a Health & Safety culture.
* Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes.
* Proven background in leading an operational area driving growth.
* Proven ability with budgets and business planning.
* Experience of developing project scopes and objectives.
* Computer literate to a high level.
* A full UK driving licence (endorsed with a maximum of 6 points).
* Ability and willingness to travel within territory and throughout the UK.
* Strong understanding of pump equipment, rental operations, and technical requirements is desired.
