Temporary Customer Services Officer/ Admin (Grants)

Pay Rate: up to £13.74 per hour PAYE depending on experience
Working Hours: 36.25 Monday – Friday, 08:45 - 17:00
Duration: This opening assignment is for 1 month

Candidates with some life experience, a direct talker who is able to empathise with customers and able to ask probing questions to find out more information will be ideally suited for the role.
Be part of a busy team of Customer Service Officers. After initial training you will be expected to answer calls speedily and efficiently, quickly identifying the problem and offering solutions. Be resilient and able to have flexibility in your working day. Predominantly talking to customers over the phone or face to face who are facing hardship for food and fuel.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Helping to determine the precise need and signposting where necessary.
2. Assist wider team with other enquiries on council services such as waste collections as required.
3. Assisting with any other duties allocated by the management team.
4. Cover the work required for the Household Support Fund as well as supporting some vacant hours and sickness absence within the team.
Experience:
1. Experience of working in a customer facing/contact role.
2. Experience of dealing directly face to face with the public.
3. Experience of delivering an outcome focused service.
4. Proof of experience either face to face or on the phone.
Skills & Abilities:
1. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
2. Effective influencing and negotiation skills.
3. Ability to operate a range of ICT software packages.
4. Able to build rapport with others quickly.
5. Able to maintain rapport with a varying range of people.
6. Able to listen to and understand customers’ needs.
7. Able to operate on own initiative.
