Duty Manager POSITION SUMMARY As a Duty Manager you will support the Depot Manager in the day-to-day running of the busy warehouse & Transport operation and instrumental for driving service, quality, and compliance across the depot. This will be on a shift rotation basis, that can include weekends and nights. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Day to Day warehouse leadership of people within a busy warehouse & Transport environment Day to Day support of planning department Customer Care escalations point in absence of depot manager Assisting in controlling costs and continuous improvement upon KPIs Assisting depot manager for site H&S & compliance Supporting the site works within the BRC and ISO 9001 frameworks Ensuring and managing safe working practices on site An ability to manage elevated expectations to deliver the business agenda. Champion a positive communication culture throughout the depot, and across the business with stakeholders by building bridges and maintaining effective communication Measurement and reporting of current state and deliverables against business needs Supporting Depot Manager in developing and align escalation process at site, with services teams and counterparts at site Assisting Depot Manager in developing service structures and processes to meet service requirements Championing, developing, and maintaining an operations-related relationship between Client’s operations team and the operations support team • Support the development of tools to increase visibility and transparency of the implemented system Identify any gaps in ongoing operations and reporting these to Depot Manager, supporting developing and coordinate plans to close the gaps Implement a continuous improvement culture Departmental cover for Transport, Planning, Depot manager REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS / LICENCES Proven experience within warehousing and distribution, or supply chain Able to understand and adhere to H&S rules and regulations, and company procedures in line with ISO 9002 High level business acumen Exceptional communication skills, with a particular emphasis on client engagement Knowledge of or Experience in conflict management and resolution, training, development, and staff appraisal Effectively assigns responsibilities and sets clear expectations ensuring work results are understood.
