Job summary We are looking to appoint a full time General Consultant Radiologist with a subspecialist interest in Uro-Radiology. We are particularly interested in candidates who are competent in delivering a wide range of services across all modalities, including relevant interventional procedures, as well as achieving high reporting standards in a range of imaging examinations in both general and relevant subspecialty investigations. You will be required to share the general reporting workload with other colleagues in addition to urological imaging and some intervention, which will complement the skill mix of the existing consultant team. Main duties of the job Main Responsibilities Participate in the general workload of the department including contribution to the duty radiologist rota, vetting of requests and in-patient CT and MRI reporting. Provision of support for urological related workload including the ultrasound service, plain film reporting, x-ray meetings and MDT. Intervention skills in particular nephrostomies is desirable but not essential Support the cross-sectional Imaging workload of the department by undertaking cancer target CT and MRI as well as routine cross-sectional imaging. Support tumour site specific cancer MDT meetings as deemed appropriate, based on service specific requirements. Teaching and training of radiology registrars, reporting radiographers and medical students. Attendance at departmental discrepancy and educational / audit meetings. Leadership, Management & Service Development Undertake evaluation and monitoring of clinical practice incorporating evidence-based principles and suitable outcome measures. Engage with business planning processes and wider service development as required. Work collaboratively with the Divisional Senior Team taking an active role in the management of the Department. Play a full part in developing and implementing new ways of working in line with modernisation principles that are fit for the future.
