Company Overview:
Our client has been established for more than half a century and is a market leader in the manufacture of bespoke products for an array of furniture applications. Due to continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth for 2025 and beyond, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Quality Manager to complement their professional manufacturing team.
Role Overview:
As Quality Manager, you will report to the General Manager and be tasked with maintaining and improving the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS). You will support all departments in developing robust quality assurance policies and procedures and obtain information from customers to drive continuous improvement in product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Implement and maintain the QMS with the authority to resolve issues.
2. Champion and develop systems following the right first time and on time in full principles.
3. Quantify the cost of poor quality and formulate strategies for reduction.
4. Accountable for reducing external complaints and internal rework.
5. Lead the policing of quality requirements throughout the production process.
6. Act as the internal lead for all in-house and customer-related quality requirements.
7. Manage non-conformances, RCA, and corrective actions using 8D methodology.
8. Lead internal investigations and inspections to support production.
9. Produce monthly and annual KPI reports for Senior Management.
10. Control quarantine stock and associated actions with the supply chain.
11. Act as lead auditor for all internal and external audits.
12. Ensure compliance with all H&S and applicable legislation.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this opportunity, the successful candidate will have:
1. At least 5 years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment in a quality management role.
2. Qualifications including Root Cause Analysis training, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Training, and Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA).
3. Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels.
4. Ability to interpret technical engineering drawings.
5. Comprehensive knowledge of quality systems, tools, and Lean methodologies.
6. Understanding of environmental 14001 is advantageous.
Additional Duties:
Ensure compliance with workplace policies and procedures, actively participate in H&S management, identify and report risks, and ensure correct use of personal protective equipment at all times.
