Duties/Responsibilities
This role would suit a dynamic person who is keen to develop their IT skills within business and business ERP systems. They must be able to prove and demonstrate existing IT skills – examples of problem solving, previous projects, etc.
The individual will provide a broad range of day to day IT support to staff located both locally on site and remotely. This will involve resolving hardware and software issues, and escalating internally or externally as required.
They will monitor day to day IT functions to ensure issues are dealt with proactively and timely.
The individual will carry out tasks such as user creation, hardware relocation, laptop setups, telephone system management, software updates, etc
Alongside day to day support, the individual will be trained to use and administer a Sage X3 ERP environment. To facilitate this they must be willing to engage in all aspects of the business, in order to gain an understanding of, and be able to shape or adapt to future requirements. A knowledge of SQL database and understanding of database structures is essential
There will be an occasional requirement for the individual to travel to other sites around the UK or globally.
There will be some physical requirements for this role, the user will occasionally be required to relocate or deploy new hardware, for example.
Requirements
Experience providing IT hardware/software support in an office helpdesk environment would be beneficial.
An understanding of Windows server 2012+ and MS network environments are essential.
An understanding of Network concepts (TCP-IP, DNS, DHCP, Etc) would be advantageous
An understanding of Windows batch files, basic scripts and powershell is essential.
Knowledge of python would be advantageous
Previous experience of an ERP system would be highly beneficial, but not essential.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and a general understanding of Excel functions (lookups, advanced filtering, etc) is essential.
This will be a predominantly office based role, but some hybrid working will be possible.
Education/Experience
BTEC/A-level education in an IT related subject
4+ GCSE’s inc. Maths & English
