Overview
We are a country pub seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to head up our kitchen. You would work Wednesday to Sunday and have a 45 hour contract. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality and food production, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to food safety. As Chef, you will play a vital role in creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests while leading the kitchen team in delivering high-quality dishes.
Duties
1. Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
2. Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation and presentation meet quality standards.
3. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
4. Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
5. Lead and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
6. Monitor inventory levels, placing orders for supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations.
7. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
8. Conduct regular training sessions on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Skills
1. Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality or restaurant industry.
2. Strong knowledge of food production processes and culinary techniques.
3. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
4. Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
5. Proficient in food preparation methods, including cooking, baking, and plating.
6. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
7. Strong communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members and management.
