Food Production Operative - Temp to Perm
The Recruitment Co are looking for Food Production Operatives in Whitefield, Bury.
These roles are temporary to permanent so candidates will get a permanent position subject to passing their temporary probation period.
We are looking for candidates who have strong production/manufacturing experience. It would be beneficial if you have experience within the food production sector; however, this is not essential.
The departments we are recruiting for are:
1. Pizza: rotating days and nights 6am-6pm/6pm-6am working Sunday to Wednesday
2. Process: rotating days and nights 6am-6pm/6pm-6am working any 4 days between Sunday and Thursday
3. Packing: rotating days and nights 7am-7pm/7pm-7am working any 4 days between Sunday and Thursday
4. Frozen Packing: rotating days and nights 8am-8pm/8pm-8am working any 4 days between Sunday and Thursday
Candidates must be able to work day and night shifts on a weekly rotational basis.
The hourly rate is £12.47 per hour (£29,828.24 per annum). For the process role, employees will be promoted to a Skilled Operative role once they pass their probationary period, resulting in an increase to £12.74 per hour (£30,474.08 per annum). If you are working permanently on Process, the pay rate once skilled will be £13.86 per hour (£33,153.12 per annum).
This is what you'll actually do:
1. Work together with the other members of the team to ensure the performance of your area meets the production plan.
2. Monitor quality at your designated area.
3. Ensure performance is maintained in your area by adherence to plant set up, technical specifications, and quality assurance processes.
4. Support the skilled operators and FLMs to achieve the efficient set up of plant at start of production and at product changeovers.
5. Ensure clean as you go is in operation and good hygiene and housekeeping practices are being carried out.
6. Ensure you adhere to the food safety policies and procedures during handling, preparation, and storage of ingredients, allergens, and finished goods.
7. Ensure that good Health and Safety practices and behaviours are adopted at all times.
8. Participate in company initiatives on training and development of both yourself and others.
Ideally, this is you:
1. Good literacy and numeracy skills.
2. Ability to follow instructions and work at the required standard.
3. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
4. Confidence to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels.
5. A positive and proactive approach with the drive to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
6. Must have basic Reading, Writing, and Numeracy skills.
