Procurement Project Officer
Location: South London/Hybrid
Salary: £42,840 per annum
A local authority is recruiting for a Procurement Project Officer to support its evolving procurement function. With ambitious targets in place, the Borough requires a skilled and commercially motivated professional to help achieve significant savings. This role is pivotal in driving forward and challenging the Council’s approach to Category Management and its Make or Buy agenda.
Additionally, the successful candidate will play an integral role in assisting the Council in delivering its strategic priorities and Medium-Term Financial Strategy (MTFS), in line with the reforms brought about by the new Public Procurement Act.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, shape, and steer the delivery of individual procurement projects at PCR levels and above.
Manage procurement projects from initiation through to contract implementation.
Ensure value for money at all stages of the procurement cycle.
Maximise savings and efficiencies from goods and services while maintaining quality standards.
Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to drive procurement success.
Challenge and refine the Council’s procurement strategy to align with best practices.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
MCIPS certification or working towards MCIPS certification, or relevant experience in a professional/commercial procurement environment.
