Ashley Kate Finance are working in partnership with an educational organisation that based in Nottingham who are looking for a Part Time Pension and Payroll Compliance Lead to start ASAP.
This role is very flexible and could be 3 days a week or over 5 days with shorter hours. The role is hybrid and will be mainly working from home, but the successful candidate does need to be flexible and to be able to visit various sites when needed across the Trust, so having a full driving license and transport is essential.

Responsibilities:
· Ensure Trust processes and practice regarding payroll and pension administration are compliant with the relevant rules and regulations.
· Act as the Trust's subject matter expert on all matters relating to payroll, including UK income tax, national insurance legislation and workplace pension rules.
· Champion payroll compliance with internal stakeholders across the Trust using specialist knowledge and working understanding of day-to-day payroll operations, procedures, and documents.
· Work closely with the Trust Payroll provider to regularly review and ensure ongoing good value for money for this service.
· Work closely with the Trust Pension providers to ensure the records held are accurate.
· Monitor accuracy of payroll data inputted and timeliness of submissions across the Trust, working collaboratively to promote good working practices.
· Provide guidance on how to solve complex payroll, tax and pension cases.
· Act as the primary monitor of upcoming changes to the UK payroll & pensions landscape.
· May demonstrate own duties to new or less experienced staff.
· Takes responsibility for own personal development, including identifying relevant training courses.
· Supports the schools in promoting the values of the organisation.
· Supports a positive culture throughout the organisation and adopts behaviours that exemplify the Trust's culture.
· Liaises regularly and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders across the Trust, including budget holders and school's office and business managers.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Liaises with external auditors and school administrative staff, to assist information flow, during internal and external audits.
· Works closely with external providers, ensuring that the organisation is always represented professionally.
· Influencing and Managing Relationships with Academy Office / Business Managers, Central Support Teams, Trust External suppliers for Payroll and HRIS, Headteachers, Directors of Schools, Trust pension providers
· Excellent working knowledge of payroll and pension systems and best practice.
· Knowledge of pension providers and other related processes such as salary sacrifice, benefits & expenses etc.
· Strong communication, presentational, organisational, and analytical skills.
· Self-starter, with and ability to work independently & use own initiative to overcome obstacles.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Attributes
· Excellent working knowledge of faster payments/BACS, auto enrolment,
· Payroll Journals, various Pension providers and other related processes such as salary sacrifice and benefits & expenses etc.
· Strong communication, presentational, organisational and analytical skills.
· High level of oral and written communication skills.
· Able to work as part of a team and contribute towards its ongoing success.
· Able to work to tight deadlines, managing and prioritising time effectively.
· Self-starter, with and ability to work independently & use own initiative to overcome obstacles.
Person Specification
· Studied to a minimum standard of GCSE (grade A* - C), or equivalent, in English and Maths.
· CIPP would be desirable.
Experience
· Previous experience of a role in payroll setting.
· Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages including Excel and PowerPoint.
· Working in an environment where experiences included taking initiative and self-motivation.
· Working as a member of a team.
· Experience of working in a school or academy trust environment
