Job Title: Senior Engineer Operations Location: Enniskillen, Northern Ireland Salary: £42,000 - £46,000 per annum (DOE) An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Engineer to join a dynamic regional management team. This key role involves overseeing the management, maintenance, and development of waterway infrastructure in the Northern Region. You will also contribute to enhancing recreational and commercial use of the waterways, managing day-to-day operations, and leading on project delivery. Key Responsibilities: Manage operational staff, ensuring the effective completion of maintenance and construction works. Collaborate with consultants and contractors to deliver projects efficiently. Lead on the development and implementation of safe systems of work. Oversee the delivery of capital and maintenance projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard. Support community engagement by working with volunteers, event organisers, and user groups. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Provide expert advice on planning applications and liaise with stakeholders. Contribute to strategic initiatives, policy development, and asset management. Act as part of the emergency response team on a rota basis, with additional remuneration. Essential Criteria: Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent qualification) eligible for Chartered membership. Minimum of 5 years relevant post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years in an operational environment. A valid driving license and access to transport for travel across the region. Strong knowledge of civil/structural engineering, especially in water-based environments. Experience in site management, budget management, and delivering complex projects. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and other relevant engineering tools. Desirable Criteria: Chartered membership of a relevant engineering institution. Health and safety qualification. Experience in a maintenance environment.
