About the Role: The Senior Production Engineer is responsible for maximizing economic production by optimizing reservoir and well performance, identifying and executing opportunities to enhance production through interventions, and generating short-term production forecasts. The Senior Production Engineer interacts with regulatory authorities. Additionally, oversees well management strategies, collaborates on process optimization, ensures accurate data management, and interfaces with internal and external stakeholders to drive operational excellence and compliance.
Responsibilities:
* Key focal point for offshore production team to support maximizing economic production by optimizing reservoir, well, and process plant performance.
* Identify, justify, and execute opportunities to enhance production through well intervention or modifications to process and water injection systems.
* Generate short-term production forecasts.
* Interact with NSTA to submit elements of the Stewardship returns and manage production and flare consents.
* Manage studies conducted by third-party contractors and vendors.
* Monitor daily production to ensure reservoirs and wells perform as expected, investigate, and resolve any anomalies.
* Collaborate with the Production Function to establish short-term production strategy and targets, monitor performance against agreed targets and manage production losses.
* Understand and control reservoir displacement processes to optimize economic recovery.
* Continuously review fields and well performance to ensure they produce to their peak potential, identify opportunities for improvement.
* Develop and maintain an artificial lift strategy, ensuring it is communicated, understood, and applied by the offshore operations team.
* Identify, justify, and promote opportunities to improve production or reduce costs through optimization of artificial lift systems, sweep pattern alterations, well interventions, or other means.
* Support other groups in justifying and implementing opportunities, such as facilities upgrades.
* Develop and maintain a comprehensive well management strategy for all wells throughout their lifespan.
* Create data acquisition programs to monitor reservoir performance, validate reservoir management strategies, and identify business opportunities while mitigating risks.
* Analyze and interpret field data acquired to inform decision-making processes.
* Collaborate with the Wells Engineering group to address new well design aspects, including completion interval selection, tubing design, and ESP/gas lift design.
* Coordinate with the Wells Management group to prioritize and schedule well intervention activities.
* Monitor process plant performance, including separators and gas compressors, to minimize flaring and ensure export oil and produced water meet specifications.
* Monitor water injection system performance to ensure injection water quality meets specifications.
* Collaborate with production chemists to optimize chemical usage.
* Develop and maintain a strategy and procedures for optimizing process plant and water injection system performance, ensure understanding and application by the offshore operations team.
* Identify, justify, and promote opportunities to improve production and reduce costs through optimization of the process plant and water injection system.
* Prepare accurate short-term production forecasts aligned with facilities constraints and ongoing work programs.
* Maintain an updated record of re-forecasts, ensuring accessibility and accuracy.
* Ensure consistency of forecasts with corporate Life of Field forecasts and reserve estimates.
* Ensure effective and timely close out of Synergi, ICP, or PLMS actions.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Geoscience, or a related field
Required Skills: Extensive experience in production/petroleum/reservoir engineering/operations/maintenance/marine with Oil & Gas operating companies
