Job summary Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust Forensic Service is expanding, and developing our existing integrated model of mental health care for men in prisons across the Thames Valley region. We are looking to recruit forward thinking, innovative, creative, and compassionate senior mental health nurses to offer a wide variety of interventions to the prison population at HMP Bullingdon in Bicester, which is a Category B and C local prison housing approximately 1000 remand and sentenced male prisoners. You will be part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team who deliver triage, assessment, group interventions, and caseload management in a person-centred way. Main duties of the job As a Senior Mental Health Nurse you will provide high quality, safe and effective mental health care and interventions to the service users within the prison establishment, including management of self harm and complex needs. You will be responsible for managing a caseload, triage, assessment, and delivery of evidence based interventions within the framework of the multi-disciplinary team and care programme approach, and input into discharge planning. As an integral member of the integrated Mental Health Team, you will provide advice and support to primary health care based within the prison, and other prison staff. You will work with internal and external partners, including partner healthcare providers, prison colleagues, social care providers, and probation services.
