Head of Corporate Governance, Risk & Audit Hemel Hempstead (Hybrid Working) Salary £70,000 - £75,000 Per Annum Plus Benefits Permanent, Full Time 37 hours per week (Monday Friday) Are you a strategic Governance professional? This role will enable you to hit the ground running. Youll be taking the operational lead as Head of Corporate Governance, Risk and Audit to deliver a robust, efficient, and professional service, leading on corporate governance, legislative & regulatory compliance, risk management, internal audit and business assurance. You will have a good knowledge of the Regulator of Social Housings Regulatory Framework, the expectations for compliance with a code of governance (Thrive has adopted the National Housing Federation Code of Governance 2020), the political environment, and any other regulatory requirement appropriate to the services Thrive delivers. Other Responsibilities: Effectively lead on the delivery of robust, efficient governance, risk and assurance arrangements aligned to Thrives objective of being a well governed organisation by supporting Thrive Homes Board and Committees, the Directors and Executive Team (including the Executive Director Corporate Services who acts as Thrives Company Secretary), seeking out opportunities for continuous improvement. Lead on corporate risk, through the Risk and Assurance Policy, stress testing, training, and the continuous development of the Risk Register. Lead on the submission of regulatory consultation responses, analysing the future regulatory and governance landscape to evaluate risk and opportunities within. Maintain statutory and governance records, ensuring any returns are filed on time and in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Supporting the Company Secretary with relevant duties. Drafting and preparing reports on matters relating to governance and/or company law for internal scrutiny and Member assurance. Manage the support team providing Executive Assistance to the CEO & Exec team. Work with the Board Chair and committee chairs to deliver effective governance Lead on Internal Audit ensuring the internal audit programme is aligned with the risk profile of the business. Manage GDPR compliance including data breach register, data impact assessments, data subject access request management encouraging best practice throughout the business. Maintain and excellent working relationship with the Chair and Board members. This may well be through engagement at meetings periodically. Requirements: A strong substantial background within a governance or legal role. You will possess high level written and verbal communication skills including accurate report and minute writing on complex issues. Has demonstrable experience of applying a governance/or legal qualification into practice. Can demonstrate a track record of delivery against our key deliverables whilst working collaboratively, to fulfil the full brief and ensure alignment from other leaders. Has a clear sense of probity, judgement and emotional intelligence. Housing knowing would be highly beneficial.
