The Role
This role offers hands-on experience in financial analysis while supporting professional qualification progression. You will gain exposure to strategic decision-making in a fast-paced logistics environment, with mentorship from senior leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory financial statements for review.
2. Tax Compliance: Assist with corporation tax returns and payroll-related statutory deductions, ensuring HMRC compliance.
3. Budget Development: Support senior team members in creating budget forecasts and cash flow projections using historical data analysis.
4. Process Improvement: Identify automation opportunities in accounts preparation and implement efficiency-driven solutions.
5. Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with operations teams to analyse transportation-specific KPIs (e.g., fuel efficiency, route optimisation costs).
6. Ad Hoc Projects: Contribute to financial aspects of business initiatives, from sustainability programmes to technology implementations.
What Our Client Is Looking For
1. Part-qualified/ACCA/CIMA finalist or newly qualified (QBE candidates with relevant experience considered).
2. Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) + familiarity with Power BI or SQL.
3. Strong grasp of double-entry bookkeeping and accrual accounting.
4. Ability to interpret financial data for non-finance stakeholders.
5. Experience with accounting software (SAP/Oracle preferred).
