The Cedars Academy at Lionheart Educational Trust
At The Cedars Academy, we believe in being kind, working hard, and taking responsibility. We strive to create a calm, inclusive, and safe environment where teachers can teach and pupils can learn without disruption. We are seeking a passionate, committed, and inspiring SENCO and Team Leader to join our Senior Leadership Team and help us deliver our vision for pupils with SEND.
Permanent and full time
This is a unique opportunity as we are a truly inclusive school. As well as our mainstream SEND provision, we have a large specialist speech and language unit and a small bespoke SEMH school called Endeavour.
Are you a leader who can inspire and manage a dedicated team, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment?
You will lead a large team of professional and experienced LSAs, have personal SEND administrative support, and work alongside our Assistant Principal (also a SENCO) for Endeavour. You will have the opportunity to strategically shape SEND provision at The Cedars.
We are looking for someone who is driven and will strive to ensure equity and equality in all of our provision, putting each individual and their needs at the heart of all decision making.
For our part, we will provide a kind and supportive working environment, training opportunities, a seat on our leadership team, and a significantly reduced teaching load.
If you are passionate about making a real difference to the lives of pupils with SEND, please get in touch to discuss the post or arrange a visit.
This post is designated as a regulated activity and requires an enhanced criminal records check for a regulated activity (including a barred list check).
We encourage applicants to apply as soon as possible as we reserve the right to close applications and interview early if we receive a high volume of applicants.
Interviews will be held as soon as possible. Shortlisted candidates will be subject to an online check, and references will be sought at the shortlisting stage.
The Trust strives to be a diverse and inclusive place where all staff have a seat at the table: a seat to be free, a seat to inspire, a seat to challenge, and a seat to succeed.
We currently have staff networks for staff who are Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME), Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer + (LGBTQ+), staff who would describe their background as working class and staff with a disability.
If you would like to come and visit the Academy or have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
The Cedars is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We particularly welcome applications from underrepresented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation, or religion.
