About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our client based in Tayside. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all estimating aspects of civil engineering projects, both pre and post-contract. You will support Quantity Surveyors in delivering cost-effective solutions, ensuring value for money while maintaining strong client relationships.
This role involves pricing small works/maintenance, surveying, and supporting operations to ensure accurate invoicing, job tracking, and seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate cost plans and estimates based on client requirements
* Estimate for civil engineering projects, including take-off quantities and preparing bills of quantities
* Develop and maintain subcontractor and cost databases
* Liaise with clients, suppliers, and contract staff to ensure smooth project delivery
* Manage documentation, including tender submissions, logs, and archiving
* Ensure compliance with company procedures, industry standards, and health & safety regulations
* Use software such as Excel, Word, Project, Constructa, and Cost X

* Strong attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Proficiency in relevant software and contract administration systems
* Knowledge of various civil engineering contracts and health & safety regulations
