An esteemed organisation specialising in the design and manufacture of process machinery for the pharmaceutical industry is seeking hard-working and capable Mechanical Fitters / Field Engineers. This role involves factory machine assembly and subsequent site installation and servicing.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Mechanical assembly of full machines and sub-assemblies, including gearboxes, chain drives, leadscrews, and bearing housings.
* Etching logos and serial numbers on machinery.
* Working from mechanical engineering drawings and specifications.
* Conducting fault finding, troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem-solving.
* Operating tool-room machinery such as drills, saws, lathes, and mills.
* Completing inspection and quality documents post-assembly.
* Packing and crating of machines upon completion.
* Performing field service work, both domestically and internationally.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* NVQ, BTEC, HNC, HND, or similar qualification in an engineering-related discipline is preferred.
* Significant consideration given to time-served apprentices.
* Experience in engineering, manufacturing, and technical/industrial environments.
* Basic electrical knowledge for cable runs and basic pneumatics is advantageous.
* Possession of a driving licence is preferable.
* Forklift licence is advantageous.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
* Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to apply extra effort to meet project/team goals.
* Prepared to travel both domestically and internationally for site work, including installation and commissioning of machines.
