The post-holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team which includes cardiologists, geneticists, ICC specialist nurses, genetic counsellors and clinical scientists. The post-holder will take part in relevant outpatient clinics with appropriate consultant supervision and support. The post-holder will provide supervised inpatient care for ICC patients including those undergoing invasive procedures such as myectomy. The post-holder will contribute to Ajmaline provocation lists and will work with the MDT coordinator to prepare for and present at the weekly ICC multidisciplinary meetings. Imaging sessions can be arranged and these will be tailored through liaison with the clinical lead. These could include any appropriate imaging modality (transthoracic, stress and transoesophageal echocardiography, computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging). The post-holder will be expected to contribute to development of an audit or research project. Beyond advanced training in Inherited Cardiac Conditions (ICC) there will be additional responsibilities in assisting in the provision of inpatient and outpatient care for our cardiology patients. Other roles may be required or developed as appropriate to the post-holder and clinical service. This is envisaged as an excellent opportunity to gain experience that will assist in a subsequent application for a consultant post in cardiology with special interest in inherited cardiac conditions.
