Contract Start Date: January 2025
Contract End Date: 11 months with potential extensions up to March 2031
Day Rate: £450-£500 GBP

Role:
Our client, a leading company in the energy sector based in Northern Ireland, is seeking an experienced QA / Test Manager to oversee and manage the entire testing process for critical projects and releases. As the QA / Test Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and successful delivery of project tests, drawing on your 20+ years of experience in Quality Assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
As the QA / Test Manager, your primary responsibility will be the overall QA sign-off for all projects under test. Key duties include:
1. Managing Onsite and Nearshore Teams: Coordinate both onsite and nearshore project/QA resources, ensuring alignment and collaboration across teams.
2. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the QA Architect, QA Analysts, Business Analysts, Enterprise and Solution Architects, and Project Managers to ensure quality across all projects.
3. Test Planning & Execution: Define, manage, and implement test plans, ensuring the appropriate scope of testing in line with business, functional, technical, and UI requirements.
4. Test Phases & Reporting: Oversee all phases of testing, manage tester workloads, and ensure on-time and on-budget completion of test cycles.
5. Issue & Risk Management: Track defects, report on testing metrics, and manage risks/issues within the testing process. Escalate critical issues as necessary to avoid delays.
6. Strategy & Documentation: Collaborate with PMO and users to define testing strategies, create Test Outcome Reports (TOR), and engage stakeholders in BAC and witnessing sessions.
Skills & Experience Required:
1. Minimum of 20+ years of experience as a QA/Test Manager, with a proven ability to oversee and deliver large-scale testing processes.
2. Extensive experience managing both onsite and nearshore QA teams.
3. Strong collaboration and leadership skills, working alongside Architects, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and other key stakeholders.
4. A deep understanding of the full testing lifecycle, including test planning, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to escalate issues and manage risks effectively.
