We are seeking to recruit a permanent full-time band 6 paediatric physiotherapist on a fixed term/secondment basis. This is an exciting opportunity for you to sample working with children and their families and apply your well rounded skills in the Paediatric setting.
The post entails working across both inpatient and outpatient care and has an agreement to participate in the Paediatric weekend and bank holiday on-call rota.
The applicant will require a breadth of physiotherapy experience across MSK, Neurology and respiratory specialisms and some knowledge of working with children would be desirable however extensive training and support will be provided. The candidate should possess excellent communication, assessment, clinical reasoning and treatment skills as well as a desire to work with children.
We are seeking a good team player, who is effective at MDT working. The post holder will need to be a compassionate, accountable individual who treats all colleagues, patients and service users with respect and seeks to deliver excellence in their role. You will share the Trust values and be committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
You can expect regular supervision and a yearly appraisal. You will receive and participate in IST and be supported and developed by highly specialist staff.
· Assess, plan and treat a wide variety of paediatric outpatients including MSK, orthopaedics and chronic pain. Covering Hydrotherapy may also be included.
· Assess, plan and treat a number of respiratory and neurological outpatients including dysfunctional breathing, recurrent chest infections, Asthma, PCD, Bronchiectasis; and developmental delay, gross motor difficulties, torticollis and longer term neurological rehabilitation.
· Assess, plan and treat a wide variety of paediatric inpatients across our 3 wards (allocated ward time daily).
· Participate in our Paediatric weekend on-call rota (daytime) covering for emergency / planned care.
· Act as clinical mentor / jointly supervising students and other members of staff as required.
· To provide training to the therapy team, members of the MDT and other health care professionals within various areas across paediatrics.
. Keep up to date with evidenced based practice and comply with mandatory training requirements
. Participate in department audits and the measurement of outcomes
. Maintain legally required patient records, Lorenzo and workload data.
