Job Description
This setting based in Hemel Hempstead is looking to recruit a new member of the team. They have a Room Leader position opening.
Position: Room Leader
Hours: 40 to 45 hours per week based on a shift pattern between the hours of 7.30am to 6pm
Salary: £24,960 to £27,040 gross per annum
Main Duties:
1. Promoting high quality childcare:
1. Room Leaders must ensure the environment of the room is highly stimulating.
2. Support good practices around Inclusion, ensuring appropriate support for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and those who use English as an additional language (EAL).
3. Some level of planning ahead and adjusting care and resources to meet EYFS guidelines is expected, consulting with the senior management team for long-term planning or major changes.
2. Communicating with parents, carers and local authorities:
1. Communicate openly and effectively with the parents and carers of the children in their care.
2. Encourage other members of staff to build positive relationships with parents and carers, providing advice and support as needed.
3. Good knowledge of ICT.
3. Keeping children safe and healthy:
1. Keep all children in their care safe and healthy at all times, minimizing risks throughout the setting.
2. Strong understanding of all health and safety policies and procedures relevant to nursery settings, including safeguarding, emergency, and security procedures.
3. Ensure all staff understand health and safety policies relevant to their role and follow procedures effectively.
4. Supervising staff and assigning tasks:
1. Supervise other staff members, maintaining strong and positive relationships with team members.
2. Support and supervise the needs of nursery workers and assistants, assigning specific tasks and providing advice.
3. Mentor staff members through training sessions and schedule day-to-day duties.
4. Ensure staff members complete the correct paperwork in line with their role, such as records of development or progress checks.
5. Liaise with the senior management team to deliver relevant training.
6. Ensure that all staff members in the nursery room can work together effectively to meet EYFS guidelines.
