Job summary To work as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team assisting with patient care activities under the direct supervision of a registered Theatre Practitioner. Following appropriate training and assessment of competence undertake identified and delegated clinical and non-clinical duties. The post holder will undertake the movement of patients, equipment and designated items throughout the hospital and will contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe working environment. Main duties of the job Establish and maintain effective communication with patients, visitors and Trust colleagues, overcoming any differences in communication. Develop and maintain knowledge in departmental and Trust policies and procedures and practice. Provide direct and indirect care to patients; make decisions about referring to other staff Assist in assessing and addressing people's health and well-being and related needs as appropriate to the role. Undertake identified competency based practices required in the clinical area in which they work. Undertake transfer/escort duties between clinical areas, completing all relevant documentation, support the moving and handling of patients. Complete and update patient and departmental records and documentation either written or via IT system input. Prioritise own workload and support the induction of new staff, demonstrating own duties to new starters.
