PURPOSE OF JOB Purpose of the Working Supervisor is to support the Rail Manager on a daily basis whilst complying with current Legislation & Company SHE and Quality Systems. Directly responsible for all rail operation activities at NCH. To be able to operate static & mobile equipment inclusive of process plants, rail load out & rail weighbridges. KEY OUTPUTS/ACCOUNTABILITIES Work in a safe manner to ensure the health and safety of yourself and others Comply with and be actively involved in MQP’s SHE and quality policies and procedures Safe operation of rail loading static and mobile plants to meet specified product quality and quantities in accordance with quality systems and work instructions General cleaning and clearance of any plant spillage that occur during working hours Ensure that all train wagons are received, stored and loaded as per site procedure To carry out inspections of track, rail loading plant, received wagons as per site procedure Maintain best plant availability Establish and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external customers Responsible for all rail staff and operations in the absence of the Rail Manger Exhibit team leadership Flexibility to cover other roles within job holders capability as defined by NCH management QUALIFICATIONS Essential - NVQ in mobile/static plant operation Desirable – Geotechnical Awareness Rail Safety Awareness SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of SHE, QA, Product knowledge and Technical awareness. Knowledge of site specific SHE procedures and rules (including basic introduction of Health and Safety Policies and Procedures Manual) and Quarry Regulations 1999. Working knowledge of Quarry Production, plant and materials. Knowledge of Rail Safety Understanding of customer requirements. Effective communication with both internal and external customers. Ability to produce concise accurate reports.
