There has never been a more exciting time to join the team In this role, you will be an integral part of leading the expansion of our production areas. You would also: Manage the overall operations of a 20 person production area broken down into 3 cells: frame manufacturing, door frame, door modification and a frame welding. Manage a high level of productivity while maximizing efficiencies and minimizing waste. Ensure orders are completed in a correct and timely fashion to maximize customer on-time delivery. Develop organizational capabilities and sustain a collaborative, high performing work environment. Ensure all tools and equipment are safe to operate and maintained according to preventive maintenance and/or other established schedules. Assists the Service Center Manager in the planning and effectively executing operational strategy to meet or exceed budgetary expectations. Drive a culture of ownership among workforce and foster a positive, energetic, and collaborative environment. Plan and schedule all resources in a manner that will ensure effective completion of tasks and goals. Lead and assist in developing lean initiatives while continually improving procedures and processes. Ensure that assigned people are trained in their respective duties and cross-trained in other areas as required, so to ensure exceptional quality, timely completion, and service. Ensure quality control measures are in place to ensure to top-quality end product. Perform special assignments and projects as assigned. Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees. Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance, policies, regulations and laws, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct. Develop organizational capabilities and create a collaborative high performance work environment. Exercise sound judgment in interfacing with customers and staff. Supervisory Responsibilities : This position is responsible for directly supervising Northwest Service Center production employees. RELATIONSHIPS/CONTACTS Reports directly to the Northwest Service Center Manager. Interfaces on a frequent basis with other Service Center and Door Group personnel. The Skills and Experience you need : High School diploma required / bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, supply chain or related field preferred. 5 years recent supervisory/leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment is required with a demonstrated ability to lead people and obtain results through others. Previous experience in a metal forming environment desired. Previous exposure to LEAN Manufacturing techniques, Kaizen, Process Improvement, customer service, freight and distribution, capacity and manpower planning, inventory management and replenishment, and production scheduling. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and planning skills for minimizing disruptions, improving product quality, and maximizing operational output. Ability to read blueprints and understand engineering drawings desired. Previous exposure to an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system desired. Excellent communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects that may have competing deadlines. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Language Ability Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as; customer orders, shop drawings, and templates in English. Good communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to speak effectively before groups of people. Mathematical Ability Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must know, understand and utilize basic mathematical formulas. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve practical problems. Computer Skills Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, email and order processing software; Knowledge of ERP systems and processes. Other Skills Excellent written/oral communication, organizational and technical service skills. Ability to work effectively and positively in a team environment under limited supervision.
