Position Summary
Lifescan Engineering Apprenticeship Programme 2025
* Four-year rotational programme based in Inverness, Scotland, while studying for a minimum of an HNC in Engineering Systems, and an SVQ level 3 in Multi Skilled Engineering
* Starting first-year salary of £18,000, rising to £24,000, £24,100, and £25,000 in subsequent years

The apprenticeship programme
Equipment Maintenance Engineering
Our Award-Winning Engineering apprenticeship programme is a 4-year Modern Apprenticeship. It was introduced by the company in 2007.
As an engineering apprentice you’ll work on a variety of state-of-the-art machinery, including robotics, vision systems, advanced PLC automation and control systems, as well as the more traditional Mechanical, Pneumatic, and Electrical disciplines.
What you’ll gain from our programme
As well as on the job training and personal development, this 4-year apprentice-training programme will result in the attainment of the following qualifications:
* A minimum of an HNC in Engineering Systems, and an SVQ level 3 in Multi Skilled Engineering.
The opportunity to get further academic qualifications up to Degree Level is available to individuals on completion of the modern apprenticeship.
What we’re offering for 2025
We are looking for 4 Engineering Apprentices for our 2025 programme.
You’ll obtain your qualifications through UHI Inverness, which is based at Inverness Campus. The successful candidates will be enrolled and start college at the end of August 2025.

What qualifications we need
We’re looking for applications from candidates who have either attained, or are working to attain the following:
Higher Maths/English, plus another STEM related subject, e.g. Physics, or an equivalent Engineering qualification.
You’ll also be eligible to work in the UK on a permanent basis.
