Job Title: Senior Planner Location: Cumbria with hybrid working Type: Contract or Permanent
Are you an experienced planner looking for an opportunity to work on a significant and rapidly changing program of work? We are currently seeking a Senior Planner to join our dynamic team in Cumbria. This role offers the flexibility of hybrid working arrangements and the chance to make a meaningful impact in a growing team.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver an efficient planning and reporting service, encompassing the creation and upkeep of integrated resource-loaded schedules, application of rules of credit as needed, and rigorous assessment of contractor progress submissions.
* Craft schedules tailored to varying requirements, including detailed working schedules, and offer guidance on rolling them up to higher levels when necessary.
* Possess experience of operating within a regulated environment and the requirements of working within a ‘gated’ project structure.
* Ensure baseline adherence, exhibit excellence in maintaining accurate baseline positions, and proficiently develop baseline change proposals.
* Independently develop, oversee, and manage significant work programs in line with established project control frameworks, employing detailed volume production and trending and change control processes.
* Conduct Earned Value Analysis, pinpoint critical areas and trends, recommend recovery measures, and contribute to clear and concise reporting.
* Provide precise forecasts for schedule performance within the financial year and project lifecycle.
* Manage planning databases for work areas, ensuring data validation and integrity across systems.
* Fulfil a governance role within the project control framework by aiding in the preparation and maintenance of project control policies and procedures, and actively promote adherence to them throughout the organisation.
* Assist in mentoring and guiding colleagues in their professional development, offering one-on-one training and support as necessary.
* Support the application of risk processes and collaborate with Project Teams, Risk Coordinators, and Risk Managers in risk identification, reviews, workshops, and maintenance of risk registers.
* Contribute to the ongoing development of project control systems.
* Aid in addressing ad-hoc requirements, such as annual inflation exercises and the implementation of change controls within systems.
Requirements:
* Substantive experience in programme/project controls management.
* Wide knowledge of procedures and methods relevant to the field, with a full understanding of underlying principles.
* Strong communication and interaction skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
* Ability to produce and present information to high standards.
* Capability to work under pressure, adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and tight deadlines.
* Excellent planning and organisational skills.
* Proficient in IT, with advanced skills in Primavera P6; system administration experience would be advantageous.
* Right to work in the UK.
* Security Clearance is desirable.
