Job summary The post holder undertakes a range of technical duties dealing with patients of all ages from a variety of specialties and will take an active role in the running of the department. They will provide a high quality service to patients, hospital staff and any other person their duties bring them into contact with. The post holder will be expected to train, mentor and support junior staff. They will be expected to act independently whilst running clinics and to act as a clinical resource within the department. Take an active role in the day to day running of the department including supervision of staff and planning of daily workload 2. Participate in departmental teaching of students in accordance with individual training programmes 3. Ensure adequate supplies of stock and non-stock items to maintain the needs of the department 4. Ensure that all tests are performed according to national and departmental guidelines and protocols 5. Give clear explanations of procedures to patients and present a friendly, helpful and welcoming environment to all visitors to the department at all times. 6.
