Axcis is working with a large secondary school who are seeking a SEND teaching assistant to start in September supporting their SEND classes where students specialise learning in English language, speech, communication and extra booster sessions. Your role will be to assist the teachers planning, help with group or 1-1 interventions and build a trusting relationship with the pupils who may have a range of SEND needs, such as MLD, SEMH or global delay and sensory processing disorder.
The school has a therapy dog on site who pupils can walk around the premises if feeling dysregulated. They have a mental health wellbeing station with 1-1 pods, counsellors and a comfy hang out space next to 3 sensory rooms. All these resources are places you and your class of students can go when feeling overwhelmed.
This position is to start in September on a full-time basis working Monday to Friday 8:30 - 3:30. You will have weekends, bank holidays and school holidays off. Axcis pays weekly, every Friday and offers a competitive rate of pay from £85 per day. We also provide SEND training and support for you to achieve in the job we place you in.
