Scope of Role:
1. To build mechanical and/or electrical assemblies to technical drawings, SOP’s and CMM’s
2. To upgrade and repair mechanical and/or electrical assemblies.
3. To test assembled product.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
4. Mechanical assembly work to drawing and/or CMMs.
5. Electro/mechanical work, fan/motors and or heaters to drawing and/or CMMs.
6. Use basic hand tools and measuring equipment. For example torque drivers, crimping tools, micrometers and verniers
7. Soldering of small components
8. Carry out, where appropriate, mechanical and electrical tests as defined in the process control documents. For example: Flash, resistance and inductance
9. Adhere to all company manufacturing procedures.
10. Complete all relevant documentation.
11. Provide any information or help required to customers, suppliers and visitors from other companies within our group of companies who often tour the factory floors, and may well take the opportunity to examine parts, talk to staff or watch them carry out their work. Therefore, the ideal candidate should be able to communicate at all levels.
12. Participate in any Continuous Improvement and 5S activities that affects the quality or output of the product.
13. Where PPE (personal protective equipment) is provided, you will be required to use it.
14. Carry out all activities as defined above in a timely manner to ensure the company manufacturing targets are achieved.
15. You will be required to take on ad hoc duties which includes, but is not limited to, training colleagues in line with local skills matrix, department associated tasks and brief secondment to other departments.
Other Responsibilities/Non-essential Functions
16. Undertake training that is identified as a requirement of the role as identified by the role Manager.
17. Undertake all other reasonable requests that are made by the role manager/acting manager or Directors.
18. At times of reduced department staff attendance there will be a need to be flexible and provide support outside of the normal tasks of the job to ensure customer satisfaction.
Professional Knowledge & Experience:
19. Able to read and understand drawings and or CMMs and or SOP’s
20. Able to work from SOPs in tandem with drawings
21. Able to read, write and understand English.
22. Knowledge of tools, i.e. circlip pliers, pliers, screwdrivers, tweezers, scrapers, Swiss files etc
23. Soldering skills on small components
24. Skills on the use of machines, lathes, drills etc
25. Brazing desirable
26. Previous experience in a production environment, assembly of wide range of electro/mechanical products
27. Experience in assembling small components, i.e. model kits or other small component assembly
28. Ability to work in a team
