JOB SUMMARY
Maintain kitchen logs for food safety program compliance. Monitor stock of kitchen supplies and food. Determine how food should be presented, and create decorative food displays. Monitor the quantity of food that is prepared and the portions that are served. Set-up and break down work station. Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food. Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator. Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist. Monitor food quality while preparing food.
To manage the preparation & service of breakfast to M Club lounge, any events requiring crew breakfast and occasional Associate events. To also assist when required with general prep depending on business levels. Responsible for the preparation, service and improvement of the food offer in associate canteen.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
1. Diploma or degree from accredited university in culinary arts or NVQ or related major
2. Minimum 3 years’ experience
3. Skills and Knowledge
4. Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
5. Innovative and creative in food production
6. Pro-active and reliable
7. Positive attitude
8. Good preparation and co-ordination skills
9. Able to work alone and within a team
