The Role COVEY (Community Volunteers Enabling You) is a lifeline for children, young people, and families across Lanarkshire. Since 1992, we have provided 1-1 and group-based befriending, mentoring, and family support services tailored to those who need it the most. As Funding Manager, you will play a key role in securing the financial resources to sustain and expand our befriending, mentoring and family support services for children, young people, and families facing significant challenges. Your work will directly contribute to transforming lives, enabling children, young people and families to thrive, no matter the challenges they face. Working closely with the Head of Income Generation, you will help develop ambitious proposals, manage grant and tender agreements, and ensure successful outcomes to continue transforming lives in Lanarkshire and beyond. You will have proven success securing funding from grant-making bodies, statutory funders or corporate partnerships; strong research, writing, and communication skills; have the ability to manage complex information and present clear, compelling reports; and possess excellent organisational and administrative skills. Key responsibilities Funding Development and Proposal Writing: Help identify funding streams which align to COVEY’s mission and strategic plan. Liaise with a range of stakeholders (internal/external) to develop impactful proposals for funding, utilising emotive case studies and statistics to improve our chances of success. Maintain and update the Prospects database to track funding opportunities. Apply for relevant funding opportunities and explore alternative income sources such as corporate partnerships, philanthropy, ‘gifts in kind’ and fundraising events. Grant and Tender Management: Work with colleagues to ensure the delivery of objectives outlined in grant or tender agreements. Provide timely and impactful reports on the success of projects, demonstrating COVEY's impact in line with contractual obligations. Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with the Communications Lead to ensure we have impactful case studies/quotes and inspirational ambassadors to represent COVEY to funders. Foster strong, productive relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to support the success of income generation activities. Strategy and Operational Input: Contribute to the development and implementation of COVEY’s strategic and operational plans. Attend regular supervision and team meetings to ensure alignment with organisational goals. Administrative Support: Provide administrative support for income generation activities, including managing the Prospects database and assisting with reporting. Person Specification Education and Qualifications: Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience Skills and Experience: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a close attention to detail Demonstrable ability to identify funding opportunities Proven success of meeting ambitious funding targets, particularly from grant-making trusts, statutory funders, or corporate partnerships. Experience securing and managing high-value partnerships (five-figure levels). Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, work independently, and meet deadlines. Ability to analyse complex information and present it in a clear and accessible manner, tailored for diverse audiences. Strong research, problem solving, statistical and data analysis skills Knowledge and understanding of the importance of monitoring, evaluation, and/or impact reporting Good understanding of financial budgets and reporting Administrative skills, including competent and confident use of various MS Office programmes Ability to think creatively and innovate within the team A collaborative team player with a flexible approach to work.
