Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer required to join contractors design team based in Glasgow. The Mechanical Design Engineer will have experience leading and managing mechanical engineering design projects and a strong technical background in building services design. The Mechanical Design Engineer will have the opportunity to hone their engineering skills on bespoke, technically challenging, design and construct projects in specialist and regulated markets, working directly with world leading end user clients.
The Mechanical Design Engineer duties will cover: collaborate with clients, the T-SQUARED multidisciplinary design team, and other project stakeholders, to understand project requirements and provide technical solutions Develop mechanical designs solutions for projects, drawing on the experience of key T-SQUARED sector specialists as required Deliver work package design information for mechanical systems including ductwork, piping, plumbing and control systems Ensure project timelines are met and quality standards are upheld Conduct code and design reviews to ensure designs meet industry standards and regulations Manage project budgets and schedules, and report on project progress to senior management Contribute to disciple development
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have Degree in Building Services Engineer or related field. Chartered Engineer, or working towards chartership, Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and industry standards Ability to think from first principles to develop elegant, efficient and economical design solutions Familiarity with psychrometric calculations (supplementary training will be provided) Excellent project management and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships
