A prestigious Douglas-based Corporate Service Provider is now seeking an experienced Group Accountant to join their established, friendly team. The focus of the Group Accountant will be to assist and support the Group Finance team in all aspects of the Accounting and Treasury function and to ensure that all statutory and regulatory financial reporting requirements are complied with, and that management makes well-informed decisions to ensure the future stability, growth and profitability of the Group. Undertake the bookkeeping for several operating and non-operating companies within the Group and ensure that financial records are kept up to date Prepare the monthly management accounts and accompanying analysis for the main recharging entities within the Group Prepare periodic financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, for the non-operating companies of the Group Assist in the monthly Group Accounting Consolidation process Assist with the quarterly VAT Return process Assist in the review of the Statutory Accounts of Group entities, interpret, communicate and feed back observations to relevant personnel Assist the annual renewal activity in relation to the professional indemnity insurance, cyber insurance, office insurance, health insurance, travel insurance etc. Assist in all aspects of the Group Treasury function (including acting as Bank Signatory) to ensure that adequacy of funding is maintained where relevant and associated liabilities are paid to terms Assist in the monthly and quarterly billing cycle to all Group entities and follow up on collections where required Process staff travel and subsistence expense claims Liaise with all internal departments as required (the majority of this is remotely via video calls) The ideal candidate for the role of Group Accountant will have: Holds a relevant professional qualification or commitment to work toward an approved relevant professional qualification Experience in using accounting software applications and MS Office 365 suite Experience of using Viewpoint Connect accounting desirable but not essential (full training would be provided) Good bookkeeping and reconciliation abilities Experience in the preparation of financial statements and other financial reports Excellent financial analysis and numeracy skills Working knowledge of UK GAAP and/or IFRS High degree of professional ethics and integrity Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with tact and confidence in dealing with people at all levels, both internally and externally Good written and oral communication skills Cooperative and supportive team player Ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks appropriately; and to manage time effectively Ability to perform under pressure of time and to deliver to deadlines Ability to work accurately ensuring attention to detail Desirable: Experience of using Viewpoint Connect accounting desirable but not essential (full training would be provided)
