Chargehand HEAVY GOODS VEHICLE Mechanic required to work within the busy Fleet Support section of Argyll and Bute. The post will be based at our Blackhill Workshop in Helensburgh. This position is a permanent position 37 hours per week 5days Monday to Friday. Starting rate £18.20 - Incremental increases to £19.74. The successful candidate must be a qualified HGV Mechanic and will be will cover Helensburgh and Dunoon when the workload requires. HGV license preferred but not essential.
The candidate will also be required to partake in the Winter Standby rota in Helensburgh. Applicants must hold the relevant qualifications to match the job description. The Chargehand Mechanic will be required to work on all the types of vehicles and plant presented at the Blackhill and Dunoon workshops for repair. On occasions you may be required in other Argyll and Bute council workshops as directed by the workshop supervisor.
Work tools and PPE are provided. Extra payments made for winter standby cover. Excellent Pension, Generous holiday entitlement and Vehicle provided to travel between work locations
