How you'll make a difference
As a Business and Administration Support Officer you will make a difference by providing a fully comprehensive and confidential business and administration service to allocated Service Managers in our Integrated Children’s Service.
What you will be doing
* You will be responsible for providing advice to customers, contacts, external organisations and colleagues, ensuring they receive appropriate guidance about policies and procedures.
* Day to day, you will carry out research, collate data and present information within your area of service specialism. This may include drafting documentation and clear, accessible findings, managing diaries and making appointments as necessary.
* It will be key for you to provide support to our Personal Assistants to cover during busy periods and for annual leave.
* We require you to co-ordinate responses to queries, MP enquiries, complaints and requests from initial contact with the customer all within the allocated time frame. For those issues that you are not able to resolve, they should be promptly relayed to more senior members, and the customer informed accordingly.
* Daily, you will provide a wide and varied range of administrative tasks to assigned projects ensuring written reports are compiled, support is provided, and records are accurate, which will help to inform decision making.
What we need from you
* You will hold a minimum qualification of 3 GCSEs, including English and maths or equivalent relevant experience within a similar role in administration.
* It is essential that you can communicate effectively to service users, professionals and partnership agencies using a variety of media.
* We require you to demonstrate IT knowledge and its practical application, including experience of using Microsoft Office. You must have experience in using databases, including running standard reports, analysing data and presenting findings.
* You will have experience of basic financial procedures e.g. petty cash, invoicing etc.
What you need to know
* This is a limited term contract, ending 22nd May 2026.
* This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Badminton Road, Yate and working from home.
