The role focuses on projects involving mechanical pipework, ventilation, and air conditioning, with project values ranging from £10k to £4m. Team Composition: The client's on-site team includes Pipe-fitters, Plumbers, Welders, Gas Engineers, Air Conditioning Engineers, and Electricians, all holding or pursuing industry-recognized qualifications. Additional subcontract labor is engaged as necessary, with site leadership roles filled by the client's employees. Project Scope: Boiler/boiler room refurbishments, installations, service, and maintenance Heating installations Ventilation and Air Conditioning installations and service Hot & Cold Water Services Controls and Electrical installations Security systems and Fire Alarm system installations Responsibilities: Prepare cost estimates for mechanical pipework, ventilation, and air conditioning projects. Analyze blueprints and documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Assess cost-effectiveness and improvement opportunities. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the best prices and terms. Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors for a seamless estimating process. Keep abreast of industry trends and regulations. Key Duties: Ensure estimates are accurate, competitively priced, and comply with standards and regulations. Prepare detailed reports and submissions for stakeholders. Support project managers and team members to ensure financial and regulatory alignment. Participate in project review meetings, offering estimation insights. Requirements: Experience in mechanical estimating with a focus on mechanical pipework, ventilation, and air conditioning. Knowledge of construction processes and mechanical systems. Skilled in negotiation and proficient with estimating software. Ability to interpret technical documents and financial reports.
