About the Role
We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead and develop the Procurement Service of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority in a new Head of Service role. This is a fantastic opportunity to be a key member of the Resources Directorate, providing strategic leadership to a rapidly growing and developing Procurement Service.
The Head of Procurement will have the expertise to lead a proactive, consultative procurement team, lead on the development and implementation of a progressive procurement strategy, and deliver procurement that makes a difference to the lives of the residents of the Liverpool City Region, driving value for money and delivering maximum social value.
About you
You will be a dynamic and driven individual joining the service at a critical and exciting period of change: a strong solutions-based thinker, commercially minded, and a strategic change-leader that can inform in a meaningful way. This will be matched with extensive experience of leading public sector procurement that delivers maximum value. You will also be in possession of strong technical expertise and knowledge, with a clear track record in managing a variety of commercial contracts. Reporting directly to the Interim Director of Finance, you will be resilient in your approach and possess demonstrable leadership skills for what is a key delivery role for the organisation.
