The Devon Mental Health Alliance has been commissioned through the Community Mental Health Framework to help transform the county’s approach to mental health, by supporting greater connectivity between the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector and statutory partners. This forms part of the NHS Long Term Plan and presents as a very exciting opportunity to be on the ground floor and part of a major reform in service provision. Post: Recovery Practitioner Hours: Full Time 37.5 hrs per week Location: Teignbridge and Exeter or other locations as required Salary: £25,500 End date: 31 January 2027 which potential for the contract to extend The Alliance is passionate about developing and delivering services in partnership with experts by experience, families, carers, and statutory and VCSE agencies – services that will have the best outcomes for people facing significant challenges in their lives. We are now seeking to appoint a Recovery Practitioner with the right skills and experience to deliver positive outcomes to a case load of individuals with a variety of mental health concerns. We are looking for someone with experience of working in a person-centred solution focused role with people from all walks of life who are seeking opportunities that will have positive outcomes for their mental health. You will have the ability to work with individuals on a one-2-one basis as well as provide group sessions in accordance with local needs. You will use nationally recognized outcome measures to inform a holistic support offer based around providing coping skills in line with the latest psychological practices. You will help to signpost individuals to VCSE services that suit their needs and help to inform the Alliance in identifying and closing gaps in the services available to people. This role will be employed through Step One Charity, working alongside the Alliance Locality Manager to help deliver a mental health and wellbeing support offer across Teignbridge. The successful candidate will undergo a comprehensive induction and training programme to learn the necessary psychologically informed skills, such as DBT essential skills, required to perform the role. You will work closely with other professionals to deliver a joined-up approach to mental health services. You will be able to deliver one-to-one interventions as well as group sessions. Knowledge of psychologically informed interventions and coping strategies is desirable. The ability to work in a person-centred manner and signpost individuals to services that best suit their needs is essential.
