An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Radiology Services Administrator role to join our busy and friendly administrative team. This is a fast-paced role that will require problem solving and excellent communication skills. It will be essential that the post holder is an organised individual, team player, and as well as work on their own initiative. You will also need to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of confidentiality issues and respond to queries in a professional manner. The successful candidate will work as a member of the Radiology team to assist in administration and clerical duties for all patient pathways.
The hours of work will be between the hours of 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday - Friday at Bridlington Hospital

Main duties of the job
1. To maintain patient confidentiality at all times following the Trust guidelines.
2. To manage patients through Radiology administrative processes and pathways in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
3. To receive and accurately process any diary cancellations ensuring patients are supported by the Referral to Treatment Guidelines and departmental booking rules are followed.
4. To collect and record data to support waiting list time's attainment and highlighting breach patients to the Team Leader/Service Manager.
5. To manage appointments ensuring patients are seen within the maximum waiting times and in clinical and chronological order set out in the Referral to Treatment Policy.
6. To support patients attending outpatient appointments using tact, diplomacy ensuring patients are arrived and general queries answered/escalated as required.
7. To ensure all patients who fail to attend, DNA (Did not attend) their appointments are followed up in accordance with the departmental DNA SOP.
8. To be able to priorities day-to-day workflow, acting independently and unsupervised within departmental guidelines.
9. To be able to make adjustments to planned lists at short notice overbooking/rescheduling where necessary.
10. To manage the diaries to ensure all scheduled sessions are fully utilised.
11. To be responsible for the training of new team members within the Radiology department.

Education, Qualifications and Training
Essential
12. GCSE A-C or equivalent qualification in Maths and English
13. Good written and spoken English
Experience & Knowledge
Essential
14. Previous clerical experience and knowledge equivalent to NVQ Level 3
15. Experience of using patient administration systems
16. Experience of working with Microsoft packages
17. Experience of working to a high standard in a customer service environment
Desirable
18. Working knowledge of the Radiology Information systems or appointment systems
19. Understanding of the 2WW cancer referral system and fast track appointment booking
20. Experience of appointment systems and understanding of Referral to Treatment Policy
21. Experience of using a patient database and recording accurate data
