Are you driven to make a real difference in children's lives? Join our dedicated team as a Support Worker at our children's home, and work to create a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels secure, valued, and loved. We are seeking full-time Support Workers to join our team in St Albans, working with children and young people who love staying active, trying new activities, and exploring new places. You'll work a mixture of early shifts from 7am - 3pm, late shifts from 2pm - 10pm, as well as alternating weekends. You will support four children and young people with learning disabilities in all aspects of their daily lives, bringing your good humour and resilience to make each day both enjoyable and meaningful. From helping them get ready for school and preparing meals to assisting with household chores, you'll see the children's confidence grow as they achieve new milestones. While new experiences are exciting, your reassuring, calm presence will provide the stability the children need to thrive, guiding them through structured days and teaching essential life skills. While the children are at school, you'll help make their home a welcoming place to return to by tidying and preparing the weekly activity plan for predictable and engaging evenings. You'll also assist with personal care and medication to help each child feel their best. Additionally, you'll have opportunities for personal development through bespoke training and working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare. During the school holidays and weekends, you'll help ease the transition from school routines to having fun by supporting the young people on exciting outings like visiting the beach or theme parks, as well as engaging with each child's own interests: Alex enjoys his quiet moments, whether it's reading stories with a cup of tea, relaxing in the sensory room, or visiting the farm. Arnold is always up for an episode of his favourite soaps, shopping, and finds real achievement in his work experience at the local charity shop. Dave loves getting his hands dirty, exploring the garden, and playing in the mud. He's also known for his impish laughter and tickles in the lounge, and spending time in the park with staff. Jack has a real sense of play - he loves puzzles, playing games on his iPad, and water play. He's also a fan of his favourite Disney films and has even enjoyed a trip to the theatre. If you're compassionate, dedicated, and really care about helping children reach their full potential, we'd love to hear from you. IND1 Names changed for anonymity.
