Mitie /Communities (revenue £400m) is one of the four major business divisions within Mitie, serving public sector clients in Healthcare, Education (schools and universities), local authorities, and emergency services. We provide both soft and hard facilities management services.
We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to predominantly support our Contract at John Radcliffe Hospital, where we operate a retention of employment model, in addition to Mitie's workforce and contingent workers, approximately 600 colleagues in total. This role will also support Healthcare-wide people projects and require travel to other hospital contracts as needed.
Role Objectives and Responsibilities
* Building strong relationships with management and the Trust.
* Building capability of the line managers through effective training and coaching in managing people in line with Trust processes, policies, and procedures.
* Providing sound counsel to Management in relation to all people issues and strategies for the account.
* Supporting complex ER issues, engaging with the Trust ER Team as needed.
* Ensuring identified service levels of delivery across all parts of HR (talent acquisition, learning and development, reward, employee relations) are met and that key performance indicators are achieved consistently with the principles of continuous improvement.
* Coaching and influencing all Managers to ensure that decisions align with Trust Policies and Procedures.
* Championing the Values of Mitie & role modeling the behaviours, ensuring these are visible and challenging any which do not promote a positive working culture.
* Proactively managing performance management across the business and contributing to Talent management.
* Driving and embedding cultural change and engagement programmes to achieve a Great Place to Work philosophy.
* Working alongside Change Partners and the Trust to drive all TUPEs & restructures adhering to all legislation/regulations.
* Proactively reviewing and addressing workforce planning along with the Management team to ensure there is no disruption to operations.
* Leading a variety of HR projects that contribute to the strategic ways of working in the Business.
* Reviewing & managing absence across the business with management, ensuring processes, procedures, and correct direction are taken to support/remedy each case in line with the Trust's processes.
* Working alongside our third-party absence management partners to maximize the best solutions with our attendance strategy.
* Collaborating with specialist service teams to ensure that OH, vetting, RTW, and pre-post assessments are accurately administered, managing the process required/building on its continuous improvement.
* Proactively reviewing all commercial projects and liaising with all COEs to ensure that plans are in place to support deliverables in good time.
* Delivering the required training programmes either through classroom teaching or webinar classes to support Management & Supervisor upskill.
* Working with the client on specific projects to ensure a smooth transition of any changes or implementations that could affect their organisation.

Health and Safety Responsibilities

* Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
* Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
* Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and/or via your divisional incident reporting system.
