Job responsibilities Responsibility for the day-to-day line management, effective leadership, training, education and development of the Transformation and Sustainability team. This includes leading on employee relations issues, within the scope of this role. Take lead responsibility for the management of all Transformation and Sustainability service budgets i.e. as budget holder with freedom to act. Develop a kind and respectful culture and address disrespectful behaviour, through the Trusts Being Kind resource. Demonstrate compassionate leadership at all times, developing the Transformation and Sustainability team through collective leadership, where empowerment of the team is at the heart of everything we do. Make operational and strategic decisions affecting the delivery of the Transformation and Sustainability service. Implement and evaluate these strategic plans, ensuring delivery and performance across all areas of the service. Develop, review and write policies specific to the Transformation and Sustainability service. Review and update existing policies at the required intervals to take account of existing and new guidance. Responsibility for managing the performance of the Transformation and Sustainability service, ensuring the highest of standards, good practice and statutory requirements are met. Ensure that all aspects of service delivery are achieved specifically Trust and ICS wide Green Plans (and associated mandated targets) and the Cost Improvement Programme (CIP) targets for the Estates, Facilities and PFI (EFP) division. Be an advocate for the Transformation and Sustainability service, influence and persuade the EFP Divisional Management Team, senior managers and any others required, the importance of Sustainability initiatives and Cost Improvement programmes. Gain co-operation and agreement as required. Effectively utilise a highly developed specialist knowledge relating to transformation, change, project management and sustainability. To be responsible for ensuring that effective lines of communication are established within the Transformation and Sustainability team and between EFP and other Divisions across the Trust. Work effectively with other team members, other Directorates and teams both within the EFP division and outwardly facing with external bodies in order to deliver the Transformation and Sustainability service. Identify and promote efficiency opportunities across EFP services, in support of the attainment of the annual EFP Cost Improvement Programme and target. Lead on the delivery of such efficiencies and ensure robust monitoring of progress against target. Regularly and effectively communicate financial cost improvement information with the Head of Transformation and Sustainability, EFP service leads, Divisional Management Team and the Trust Project Management Office (PMO) and others where required. Responsibility for adapting/ designing and maintaining robust information systems relating to the performance of the Transformation and Sustainability that satisfy the governance arrangements for management of performance across the Division. Responsibility to align to and embed the Trusts culture of continuous quality improvement into all Transformation and Sustainability activities and processes including; identifying project opportunities, identifying process change opportunities and monitoring performance. Analyse, interpret and compare complex data, facts, a range of options or situations (ranging from performance reports, technical reports, financial reports, spreadsheets/data and project documentation / information) in order to resolve issues, forecast trends and propose and implement management strategies. Plan and organise a broad range of complex programmes requiring the formation or adjustment of plans and strategies e.g. cost improvement, sustainability and energy. Make decisions regarding policies, plans, programmes and procedures that relate to the Transformation and Sustainability service and decide how these are best achieved. Benchmark EFP service performance using the Model Health system and take appropriate action in conjunction with service managers to achieve continuous improvement. To lead on the interpretation and implementation of requirements and recommendations from national strategies, guidance and mandated targets relevant to areas of responsibility. Identify any change implications for the Trust e.g. operational and financial effect of changes. Responsibility for acting independently and autonomously within specialist and statutory requirements specifically related to Transformation and Sustainability service. Develop, review and write policies specific to the Transformation and Sustainability service. Review and update existing policies at the required intervals to take account of existing and new guidance. Ensure appropriate implementation of these policies. Responsibility for carrying out research and development activities in order to support EFP service change and transformation which support the attainment of both divisional EFP objectives and annual cost improvement programme targets.
