Role Description: We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Cloud Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. Based from our Whiteley office (UK), the individual will provide direct support to the Project teams to successfully deliver a developmental programme to our customer NATS. This position is a full time, permanent role and applicants must have SC clearance or be willing to undergo the clearance process. Ad-hoc travel may be required to various customer and Leidos sites. THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for delivering a series of software development projects in support of the wider IT Infrastructure and business applications services for NATS and Scottish Government. The Cloud Engineer will report to the Programme Manager and will be responsible for developing and implementing Azure functions for the project. Primary responsibilities will include: Activities: • Deploying, managing and optimising a customers Azure environment • Working on projects to deploy new applications into the environment • Maintaining and monitoring the Azure environment with Microsoft best practises Technology (Competencies and Skills): • Windows and general admin skills – On-prem legacy tooling provides some of the capability to the Azure services (SCOM, SCCM etc) • Azure IaaS Services – Windows Azure Instances, availability sets • Azure Monitor OS & Application Insights & Dashboards / Azure Backup • Azure PaaS – setting up and managing – Azure Application and Web Service Plans • Azure Networking – load-balancing, routing, VNETS, subnets etc, networking logging • Azure Network Peering • Azure VDI • Azure PaaS – setting up and managing – Azure SQL databases • Azure Security – firewalls, security groups,ACLS, Security Centre Azure native patching and Automation for windows patching • Azure relay and Application Gateways • Awareness of FinOps / optimisation • Azure Devops • Azure DataFactory • Azure Keyvault WHAT DO WE DO FOR YOU?
